Elmo is a multi-functional Class IIa medical device that painlessly takes the following readings:
- Temperature /Heart rate
- Blood pressure
- SP02
- Respiration and
- 3 lead ECG trace to show heart rate and rhythm
General
The taking of vital sign measurements has until now been done by skilled clinicians. Elmo can be used by less skilled personnel, freeing skilled clinicians for the real job of nursing. According to NICE calculation, if adopted across the wards in the NHS, it will save £304,000 per day in man-hours.
- Doctors in their surgeries or on visits can see a complete set of a patient’s vital signs in less than 2 minutes to assist in diagnosis
- Concerned workers in Care Homes can take a patient’s vital signs, which can be seen live over the internet by a remote clinician or 111 to receive advice
- Millions of Long term condition patients can take their readings in the comfort of their own homes. These can be viewed remotely by the support clinicians or 111 to help reduce the strain on NHS facilities

Elmo is manufactured by iMonSys Ltd, an ISO 13485 accredited medical device manufacturer and has gone through all the testing required to attain full Lloyds Registered CE Marking as a Class IIa medical device.
